Scam Statistics
UK Finance published their Annual Report, showing that during 2022, in England and Wales, over £1.2 billion was stolen through Fraud. Within that overall figure unauthorised Fraud losses were £726.9 million, and Authorised Push Payments £485.2 million, with more than 2.9 million reported cases of confirmed Fraud to UK Finance Members.
Scam Prevention Services
Jon can provide advice and guidance, to help prevent Clients being scammed. The Client will be asked to pay a £40 fee, which will enable them to make up to ten telephone calls, throughout the year, to the Caldwell Security Company mobile number, between 08.00 and 20.00hrs, seven days a week, where they will be able to obtain Telephone Security Advice from Jon Caldwell. This could relate to the Client having received a suspicious telephone call, text or e-mail, or doorstep caller, which they believe to be a scam, or of a criminal, or malicious nature. Jon will use his knowledge and experience, and the most up to date security intelligence, to provide the Client with Scam Prevention advice and guidance. Included within the Fee, Clients will also be able to forward up to fifty suspicious e-mails, or texts, they may receive, throughout the year, to Jon, who will be able to advise whether he believes it to be a scam e-mail or text
Advisory Warning
There may be a few occasions when it may not be possible for Jon to answer every telephone call immediately due to other commitments, such as meetings, or whilst conducting work with other Clients. In these circumstances a Voicemail Message can be left on the Caldwell Security Company Mobile Phone number by the Client, and Jon will respond as soon as practicable. If the Client believes that criminal activity is in progress, they should contact the Police via 999 or 101. If it is suspected that the Clients Computer, or Laptop, may be infected with a malware virus Jon will be able to recommend a competent IT Security Advisor to contact the Client as soon as possible to advise on what actions the Client may need to take to reduce any security risks.
Scam Prevention Guidance
Jon has developed an easy to read ‘Advisory Guidance’ document, which will be made available to all new Scam Prevention Clients, having paid their Fee. This Guidance is based on good practice, obtained from a wide range of Organisations, and gives the Client simple advice, aimed at helping them to identify possible scams, which will enable them to contact Jon, as soon as possible, to obtain his advice on what to do to prevent being scammed.
